We can ONLY consider your application if you have:
1: 15 years of related experience with Bachelor's degree, 13 years with a
Graduate Degree, or 19 years in lieu of a degree
2: Previously served as Environmental Remediation Director or Senior
Remediation Manager in a complex organization
3: Proven track record of managing complex environmental projects.
4: Experience in engaging with federal and state environmental regulatory
agencies, in California and other jurisdictions.
5: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage both senior and junior
team members.
6: Excellent negotiation skills for complex remediation agreements, water
agreements, access agreements and consent decrees.
7: Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute environmental
remediation strategies.
8: Strong communication skills with experience providing updates to
executive-level leadership.
9: Familiarity with environmental sustainability reporting and compliance
obligations.
10: Ability to travel up to 30% to locations within the US.
11: Ability to obtain a US security clearance (generally, US Citizenship and a successful, extensive background investigation required)
We are looking for an experienced Environmental Remediation
Director with a strong background in managing complex remediation projects and
engaging with federal and state regulatory agencies.
The successful candidate will have over 15 years of experience in the field and
will be responsible for leading a team of senior and junior scientists and
engineers.
DESIRED (not required) SKILLS:
:: Degree in related environmental and/or engineering discipline a plus
Duties and Responsibilities
== Develop and execute remediation strategies to ensure compliance with
environmental regulations and manage costs effectively within the allocated
budget for a large and complex portfolio of environmental remediation projects
across the United States.
== Lead and manage a team of experienced senior and junior level scientists and
engineers.
== Engage with multiple federal and state regulatory agencies and other parties
to negotiate complex remediation, water access agreements, and consent decrees.
== Provide active support to Real Estate team for the acquisition and
divestiture of property, including property that has undergone or is undergoing
active remediation.
== Manage consultants located throughout the United States.
== Manage corporate environmental remediation reserves and develop annual
project budget spend requirements
== Provide updates to, and communicate effectively with, executive-level
leaders within a large matrix organization.
== Ensure the quality and accuracy of environmental sustainability project
information, including critical project lists and environmental impact
assessments.
== Coordinate with the Legal Department to resolve environmental notices of
violation and support environmental remediation matters.
== Utilize environmental sustainability calculators to calculate and report on
energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and waste minimization.
